I am a New York State certified and licensed Psychotherapist and Psychoanalyst practicing for 16 years and work with individuals and couples of all types.

While my training covered a variety of theoretical models, I use experience, discovery, and careful trial and error to continue to develop my own particular voice. As a psychotherapist, my work is influenced by both my training and my personality. Our beliefs, how we relate to people, our culture and our patterns inform the treatment as much as the theories I've studied and other theories I continue to explore.

I received my Masters in Social Work in 1995 from New York University. My post-master training culminated in certification in 2003 as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist from the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center.

In addition to my private practice, I have worked extensively with people in their homes who were dealing with the trauma and upheaval of being diagnosed with a serious and progressive illness. The work involved helping patients and their significant others handle the myriad of emotional issues that come up when faced with being ill.

I also have extensive experience working with sexual addiction and other addictions as well as those having difficulty managing issues related to intimacy and their sexual orientation.

I am a member of The National Association of Social Workers and have been a member of The National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis and The Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies.
